Clinical Trials

Research that moves the field.

Our physicians have led or co-authored the trials behind frameless SRS thalamotomy, HyperArc radiosurgery, and 5-fraction breast SBRT. At the Institute, that work continues — and eligible patients can be part of it.

LDRT-MIND Now enrolling

Low-dose radiotherapy for early Alzheimer's disease

Neuroinflammation is increasingly implicated in the progression of Alzheimer's disease. LDRT-MIND investigates whether precisely delivered, ultra-low-dose brain radiotherapy — the same anti-inflammatory mechanism we use in arthritis — can safely reduce that inflammation and slow cognitive decline.

Participants receive comprehensive cognitive and imaging assessment before and after treatment, delivered on the Varian Edge® with HyperSight™ at our Winter Park facility.

SPASM Recruiting NCT06070233

Radiosurgery for spasticity after stroke, spinal cord injury, and cerebral palsy

Selective dorsal rhizotomy relieves severe spasticity, but it is open surgery, and most patients never become candidates for it. SPASM asks whether the same target — the sensory root carrying the overactive reflex signal — can be reached noninvasively with a single session of stereotactic radiosurgery.

The trial is randomized and sham-controlled against standard of care, sponsored by Ohio State University. It is open to adults whose spasticity persists despite medical and interventional management.

LDRT — Spine & Joint Registry Ongoing

Outcomes registry for LDRT in arthritis & spine arthropathy

Every LDRT patient we treat for osteoarthritis or low back & neck pain is invited into a prospective registry tracking pain relief, function, and durability — building the evidence base for a therapy the US has been slow to adopt.

A track record, not a promise

Our medical director served as principal investigator on the phase I/II prospective trial of frameless, virtual-cone SRS thalamotomy for tremor and has co-authored trials spanning breast SBRT, brain metastases, and cardiac radioablation. See the publication record →
